The Lord is My Strength

In order to run our race and endure to the end, we must rely on God's strength.  We do not have the grace or strength to faithfully serve God on our own.  We have to rely on the supernatural limitless strength of the LORD who resides in us.  2 Corinthians 1:21-22 says, "Now, it is God himself who has anointed us.  And he is constantly strengthening both you and us in union with Christ.  He knows we are his since he has also stamped his seal of love over our hearts and has given us the Holy Spirit like an engagement ring is given to a bride-a down payment of the blessings to come!" (TPT).

Samson's supernatural strength surpassed that of any other man.  The secret to his strength was his seven long braids of hair that had never been shaved since his birth.  It would seem as if Samson's hair was his source of power, but God was his strength.  The source of his strength was his obedience to God.  He was a Nazarite, consecrated to God from his mother's womb and no razor should ever touch his head.  Samson fell into sin and compromised.  He was then betrayed by Delilah, who cut off his hair while he was asleep.  Samson lost his strength.  Compromise and unrepentant sin will cause us to lose our supernatural strength.  However, after Samson repented, his hair grew back, and his strength returned.

How do we receive God's supernatural strength?  We receive it by reading and meditating upon God's Word.  Acts 20:32 says, "Now I commit you to God and the the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified," (NIV)Jude 1:20 says, "But you, my delightfully loved friends, constantly and progressively build yourselves up on the foundation of your most holy faith by praying every moment in the Spirit," (NIV).  Ephesians 6:10 says, "In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides}," (AMPC).

Psalm 118:14 says, "The LORD is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation," (NKJV)Psalm 29:11 says, "The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace," (AMPC)Isaiah 40:31 says, " But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him} shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired," (AMPC).  Yes our flesh and hearts may fail, but God remains the strength of our hearts and our portion forever.

God will give you the strength to be a voice for the gospel.  Wear Scriptures!
